Steve is an advocacy communications consultant focused on writing, editing and visibility building to advance public interest organizations and causes. He spent 15 years in senior communications roles at UC Office of the President, Berkeley School of Education and WestEd. A native San Franciscan with deep civic roots, Steve is active in local and national efforts to protect and strengthen democracy. A lifelong music fan, Steve plays (mostly jazz) guitar and sings in the Berkeley Community Chorus. He is a certified Orff Schulwerk teacher and taught music in primary schools. Steve holds a secondary music credential from San Francisco State, where he graduated with a B.A. in Music and an M.A. in Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts.
