Pam VandeKamp

Dr. VandeKamp has served as the Working Chairperson for Music in Schools Today since August 2023. She enjoyed an extensive career as an educator in California. for over 40 years in both private and public schools, spending the past 28 years in the Bay Area in demographically diverse school settings. Most recently, she served as a Director of Assessment and Accountability, where she oversaw district wide assessments as well as all aspects of the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) State and Federal funding and the English Learner program.
Dr. VandeKamp earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from UC Santa Barbara and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from UC Berkeley, conducting research on developing effective use of data teams in a school setting. She completed Doctoral Studies in Educational Leadership from UC Berkeley. Her doctoral dissertation focused on providing professional development for site administrators to improve observation and coaching of classroom instruction.
Dr. VandeKamp has worked in partnership with MUST since 2010 and has experienced the value that arts integration and education provides for students across the socioeconomic and cultural spectrum. As an elementary school principal and district office administrator, she was able to bring a wide variety of diverse and engaging programming to students and families. She has a wide range of artistic interests ranging from classical violin to musical theater and textileart. She values the wide ranging impact of the arts on neurological development, cross culturalsense making and the joy of experiencing creativity in a social interaction, contributing to asocially connected community.
