". . . the arts have been an inseparable part of the human journey; indeed, we depend on the arts to carry us toward the fullness of our humanity. We value them for themselves, and because we do, we believe knowing and practicing them is fundamental to the healthy development of our children's minds and spirits. That is why, in any civilization - ours included - the arts are inseparable from the very meaning of the term 'education.' We know from long experience that no one can claim to be truly educated who lacks basic knowledge and skills in the arts."

Enrichment Programs

Our arts enrichment programs provide hand-tailored music classes to schools and community centers. Theses residencies are developed and taught by trained Teaching Artists. MUST’s in-school and afterschool programs include music, band, dance, and visual arts classes. Enrichment classes are available to requesting districts, schools, and community centers in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Integration Programs

In our early education program, Music First!, children learn to express themselves through music and movement, and develop literacy skills. Music First! enhances school readiness skills, such as social and emotional development, while offering language acquisition and literacy skills through the lens of music education. Other arts integration programs are available upon request.

Instrument Donations

We place lightly-used donated instruments in the hands of students across the Bay Area. We accept instruments at three Bay Area locations year-round and during our annual instrument drive.

Receiving donated instruments or starting a music program at your school is simple! If you have any questions, please email info@mustcreate.org or call (415) 392-9010 for more information.

Become a Teaching Artist

Are you an early childhood music teacher or an artist with experience teaching children? We want YOU to join the MUST team as a Teaching Artist!

Teaching Artists are an integral part of our programs—they are the feet on the ground and the hands in the classroom who bring our curriculum to students in schools. As a MUST Teaching Artist, you will bring excellence in music education to countless students across our service area and share your love for your artist discipline in a way that impacts lives in a lasting way.
