Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What sort of instruments are you accepting?
A: We’re happy to accept almost any gently used instrument from acoustic guitars to xylophones.

Q: Are there any instruments you aren’t accepting?
A: Unfortunately, we are currently unable to accept pianos, organs, drum kits and other large instruments that cannot be carried by hand. We also cannot accept recorders at this time. Instruments that are in very poor cosmetic and playing condition, or that can’t be used by schools, may be auctioned and proceeds will go towards the repair fund to clean/repair instruments that require refurbishment.

Q: Where can I drop-off my instrument?
A: Please take a look at our drop-off locations above to find what is closest to you.

Q: Is my donation tax-deductible?
A: It sure is! To receive a tax receipt, please fill out the form below. Tax receipts for donations to Music at Kohl Mansion can be found here.

Q: I am a band teacher, can I get donated instruments?
A: To learn about becoming an instrument recipient school, please read here.
